The United Arab Emirates will officially lift its travel ban on Lebanon starting May 7, 2025, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday.

The ban, imposed in 2021 amid a diplomatic rift, restricted Emirati citizens from traveling to Lebanon.

Its removal follows a recent visit by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to Abu Dhabi, where he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. The two leaders agreed to implement measures facilitating travel and enhancing bilateral relations.

This development signals a warming of ties between the two nations, with plans to establish a joint UAE-Lebanon Business Council and explore cooperative projects in governance and development.

Emirati citizens planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to register with the UAE’s ‘Tawajudi’ service before departure.

The UAE signalled support for a $11 billion post-war reconstruction plan and indicated that a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development would visit Lebanon to explore potential cooperation projects.

This comes months after Emirates Airlines resumed daily flights between Beirut and Dubai.
